From bob at yarncraftsupplies.com Wed Jan 7 09:37:58 2009 From: bob at yarncraftsupplies.com (Bob Lewis) Date: Wed, 07 Jan 2009 09:37:58 -0600 Subject: [Yarncraftsupplies] News from Yarn Craft Supplies Message-ID: <8ae4ac11f8db6634d6cb530fee33da20@localhost> Here in Columbus, it has been a topsturvy Fall and Winter so far. We have had a mixture of below seasonal temperatures to record breaking highs. I know several areas had a white Christmas, but we had sunny skies and low 60's. We have had more ice than I want to deal with and now we are expecting the temperatures to rise again with some ice possible later in January. Here are some updates: If you are going to the TNNA Trade Show in San Diego (January 17 - 19) which is coming up in a few days, I will be there. I will be in Booth 524. Stop by to order some of the three new Christmas stockings that I introduced this year. At the present time I have not retired any of the existing patterns but several are being considered for being on special order only. I would like to meet everyone, so if you get a chance, stop by for a piece of candy and talk. I am also scheduled for the TNNA Trade Show in Nashville (February 6 - 9), Sturbridge (May 3 - 4) and obviously will be at Columbus (June 13 - 15). If you don't make it to San Diego but are going to one of the others, make sure you come by and say hello. The new catalog is at the printers. I am hoping to bring plenty to the San Diego. If you can't attend your catalog will be mailed. I have changed the catalog's format and the pricing will only be wholesale. I hope the format works for you. If you see where improvements can be made, let me know, and I will see if I can incorporate them into the next issue. I want to make it easy for you to order. The web site (www.yarncraftsupplies.com [1]) is progressing. The e-mail portion is operational, as you can see by this e-mail. If you know of a shop who is not receiving this e-mail, let me know and I can sign them up or they can sign up on the web site. The developer is testing the purchase portion of the site and is telling me it should be operational soon (no firm time line is identified). I intend on having all the items I carry available for the public to view, but only you as shop owners will be able to see the wholesale cost. Your customers will be able to check out the website, especially when ordering patterns and Christmas stockings. I try to ship the cheapest but reliable service. I will sometimes use USPS, because for small packages it is the cheapest way. UPS is planning a price increase this month, so I have been looking at other options. I will probably be switching to Fed Ex since they will be cheaper and don't have as high a surcharge for residential addresses. I was surprised at the number of customers, UPS considered residential and rural. Let me know if this change is positive or negative on the quality of service you receive. I hope 2009 is a good year for everyone. See you in San Diego. Links: ------ [1] http://www.yarncraftsupplies.com/ -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:
